- How We Work
How we work
A field-first process that turns uncertainty into momentum
Instrumentation projects rarely fail because somebody chose the wrong sensor. They fail because assumptions went untested until the installation was already committed. We front-load the parts that are expensive to get wrong.
The process
Four stages, in this order, for a reason
STAGE 01
Start with the operational reality
Before any hardware is chosen we agree on what success means: who reads the data, what decision it drives, what failure looks like, and what has to be true for the system to be worth its cost.
- Which parameters genuinely matter, and to what accuracy
- Who acts on a reading, and how quickly
- What reporting or compliance obligation the record has to satisfy
- Site constraints: access, power, communications, security
STAGE 02
Get a working system on site early
We prioritise the smallest integrated system that can be installed and learned from. A single station reporting into a live dashboard teaches more in a fortnight than another month of specification.
- One representative site rather than the full rollout
- Real sensors, real comms, real dashboard, end to end
- Deliberately reversible decisions where we are still guessing
STAGE 03
De-risk with real site data
Weather is an unforgiving test environment, which is useful. Once equipment is exposed to the actual conditions, the assumptions that were wrong surface quickly and cheaply.
- Power budget checked against genuine cloudy-week behaviour
- Communications reliability measured, not assumed
- Alert thresholds tuned against observed conditions instead of guesses
- Mounting, earthing and enclosure decisions validated in weather
STAGE 04
Harden it into something you can scale
Once the approach is proven we firm up reliability, standardise the build so the twentieth station goes in like the second, and put the maintenance and support practices in place.
- A repeatable station build and commissioning checklist
- Diagnostics and remote troubleshooting, so not every fault needs a site visit
- Calibration schedule and spares holding
- Reporting and user management handed over to your team
What you get
Designed to be operated, not just delivered
A system nobody can maintain is a liability with a warranty. We hand over the means to run it.
Diagnostics built in
Station health, battery state, signal quality and last-seen times visible before a reading goes missing, rather than after somebody notices a gap in a report.
Documented and repeatable
Build sheets, commissioning checklists and site records, so expanding the network does not depend on one person's memory.
A support route that works
A clear path for a fault: what your team can resolve, what we handle remotely, and what genuinely needs a site visit.
